Here is my third set of mini 3x3 cards.
I brought out the Cuddlebug for this set and embossed the black background.
I really should emboss more often! It adds so much character!
(But doesn't photograph well)
I skipped putting a sentiment on these...not sure if that was a good move yet but

ahhhh it took forever (maybe that's why I gave up on a sentiment!)

These are gorgeous, Erin! I LOVE the black embossing. It makes these cards so striking. That sure was a lot of paper piecing but it's so worth it. I'm sure your client will love these! As for a sentiment, I think those hearts speak for themselves.
