Sweet Challenges

So excited to have a chance to WIN Sweet Stamp Shop's first CHALLENGE!

I used the new release, It's a Man's World and paired it with two older sets:

When I saw the bow ties in the new set, I couldn't wait to try one on Melvin.
AND just look how adorable he is:

He definitely looks like a fancy workin' Dad! :)
Thanks for stopping by, and as always, I enjoy receiving your feedback
so go ahead and leave me a comment.

A Little Birdie Told Me...

I need to just get to it, this stamp has been burning a hole in my pocket for MONTHS!

Isn't she just a SWEETHEART?!
Well, I think she's perfect. :)
You can find the Unity set with her in it HERE

I imagine this will be a Birthday card...
but it is blank inside in case I change my mind.

Just one more thing a SHOUT OUT to my Spellbinders.
I use them on almost every card I make. I LOVE them!!!
I should definitely invest in a few more, just to change it up.

Thanks for looking. Be blessed!

Full of Scrap!

Well I got your attention! ha!
When I buy those 6x6 paper packs I feel like I have so many little scraps...
I only buy the packs that I really love, so I hate throwing away any of it.

Solution:
I used my circle punch to savor each scrap and mixed up the patterns.
I added some Walnut Stain distress ink to the edges to make sure they popped off the kraft background.

I love the frame, it's a Sweet Stamp Co. goodie from the Sweet Alpha Doodles Set.
...a chunky twine bow held with Glossy Accents and I'm done!

Successful use of teeny tiny lovely scraps!

May Joy Always Find You

Happy Sunday!
Seems Sundays have become my only day to get crafty lately...boo!
I took some time to build a photo cube to help take better pictures.
I sure hope my readers will notice a difference as I practice using it.

Here's a little CAS card:
These are some scraps I just couldn't part with and
how perfect is this sweet Unity Stamp Co. sentiment?
I added gems with  my iRock tool to fill in the extra space.

I am totally on the 'banner' bandwagon, however, those adorable fishtail ends
can make this perfectionist go a little nuts so I went for a little variation.

Hope you like it!

Sweet Stamp Shop THANKS

To say I was thrilled when Nicole from Sweet Stamp Shop
asked to feature ME on her blog is an understatement!!!

I am such a HUGE fan of her designs...
It also makes a BIG impact on me when an owner is down to earth and friendly.
She definitely seems like a girl I would love to get crafty with.

Here's a new card to say THANKS for noticing me:

I used the Furry Friends Forever set
with some oldie but goodie My Mind's Eye design paper.
The sentiment is stamped with the go to set Sweet Alpha Doodles.

Welcome to those of you who haven't been here before, I hope you stick around!

So Many Babies

I cannot believe how many women in my life are expecting right now!
I made this 'sweet' baby card as an entry for the Sweet Stamp Shop design team.

I haven't made very many baby cards so I assume bunnies go along with babies?!
I think the ribbon is my favorite part of this card.  I like the texture it brings.
The bunny stamp is from the Furry Friends set.
I added some pink Stickles and some Liquid Applique to the ears and tail.
And the sentiment is actually from the Buddie-Bee set.

Love this soft, distressed paper-- it's from Simple Stories.
Now, hopefully one of these ladies has a girl!

Owl be BACK!

Well sadly I did not make the Sweet Stamp Shop design team...
There is still a slim chance I could get picked as a guest designer though!
Which, for my life, would be just as great!! **fingers crossed**

So I thought I'd share one of my entries:

Sort of a fitting sentiment huh?  I will be back!
I just love SSS too much :)
Their next design team call will be in July.

Melvin and Vernie were my first set and they were a winning set from a blog hop.
It was a downhill spiral of purchasing after that...Don't tell the hubby!

For this card, I colored them with my Copics and tried to practice my blending/shading a little. Can you tell?  For paper I used my new FAV:  Authentique.
Thanks for looking!

Sympathy Card

Unfortunately, my family and I lost a very dear friend recently to cancer.
He was gentle and kind and simply taken way to soon...

I can't say I have ever made a sympathy card.
Probably because of the obvious--they aren't very fun.

By chance, months ago, I purchased the Unity set:  With Sympathy.

I really LOVE the quote:
"If the future seems overwhelming, remember it comes one moment at a time."
I think simple is best in these situations.

The pops of colorful butterflies are my favorite part.
They are an Echo Park goodie from the set:  I Adore You.
I think they look awesome on the black and white.

I hope this card helps, even if just for a second...

Blog Awards!

Thank you to http://happeningsbyheidi.blogspot.com/ for thinking of me. I adore scrapping with her, she's such a sweetie! You seriously MUST checkout all her amazing layouts!!!

Liebster is German and means 'dearest' or 'beloved' but it can also mean 'favorite'. The idea of the Liebster award is to bring attention to blogs with less than 200 followers. So, in the spirit of good fun I am passing this award on to five other bloggers. Please stop by and visit them.

The Rules are:

1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

2. Reveal your five picks for the award and let them know.

3. Post the award on your blog.

4. Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the blogshare-other bloggers.

5. Finally and the best rule of all..........have fun and spread the love!

My five picks for the Liebster award are:

Puppy Love

I started this card with intention to use as a design team entry
however I didn't have the Sweet Alpha Doodles yet!

I knew what I wanted to say and Thickers just weren't fitting so yes I ordered
this set just for this card! LOL
BUT I did know I would use the beegeezes out of it so that helped seal the deal.
Do you love the striped puppy as much as I do?!
Paper piecing does wonders for images like this... I think it's such a finished look.

The gems are from my iRock tool and shine much better than in this photo.

Hoping to hear about the design team spot next week,
I read there were almost or just over 100 entries!

Be Mine Valentine

I might be ahead of the game for once by posting Valentine's Day cards,
But sometimes you just gotta strike when the iron's hot right?!

I had my niece and nephew in mind when I made these...
I think Lilly will LOVE Vernie. The sentiment is a Unity Stamp favorite of mine.
And I really do adore Miss Lilly. :)

Not sure what my little man Bennett will think of this Furry Friend
This sentiment is also from Unity Stamp Co.
He's all boy and would prefer some thing of the sports variety...
typical man.

I entered the Design Team Call for Sweet Stamp Shop today.
Tomorrow is the deadline if anyone is interested.
I think half the fun of entering is forcing yourself to get things made!
Maybe that's why these cards will be on time....

hehe Have a GREAT week!!!

Sweet Gnomies

Happy NEW YEAR! What a year 2011 was...
I couldn't be MORE blessed. <3

Thought I might make a few cards today, I finally got in the grove
with the darling Sweet Stamp Shop set: Gnomies.
I used my Copics for both cards.
This card was inspired by my blonde friend
Shannon who came to visit over the holidays.
I added the log from the set Furry Friends Forever set.
To make the grass I just cut cut cut!
Those fancy Martha Stewart scissors have nothing on ME!

I actually bought the Copic marker BG72 to match this Authentique Paper: Gathering.
Isn't perfect?! Of course I couldn't resist some Stickles on this guys beard...

Here's to happy, healthy, and blessed 2012!
CHEERS!
