Furry Friends

Just a quick post today...
I recently picked up a few new sets from Sweet Stamp Shop.
There is not ONE set I dislike, seriously cute stuff over there!

I made these fox cards yesterday when I working at the scrapbooking store:

I colored them with my Copics and used Jillibean Soup paper. *A tip I learned: Use black ink and clear embossing powder before coloring!
It's genius because you can't color out of the lines!
I think it gives the image a more finished look too.
The yellow layer is popped up giving them a little dimension.
Of course I got a little messy inking the edges.

I'mmmm BACK!

Hello bloggie friends!
I know, I know, you can hardly even believe I am posting right?!
Well, I have a bucket FULL of excuses but I'll spare you the details.
My new job has my left brain working overtime
and I think it started to take over the crafty right brain side of me too.  BOO!

But HERE I AM.  With a special post of some wedding cards.
A friend of mine ordered three cards to give to her parents and her hubby on their special day.
Her colors are red, ivory, black and silver.
She also mentioned a wintery theme of snowflakes.

So this is what I came up with:
I LOVE my new Generations set--
I've wanted doily stamps for a long time and now that I have them I can't believe I waited so long!
They are so super fun to stamp!!! Get this set, seriously it's my FAV.

This card seems a bit more masculine to me with the stripes but I added some Stickles (Black Diamond) to the heart and sparkly silver ribbon for some bling.

Saved the best (or my FAV for last) I just picked up this Spellbinders set yesterday and couldn't wait to use it- HUGE fan of the detail.  I think it tips this card to the more fancy side of things...
The snowflake paper is Echo Park.
Oh and the sweet sentiment is from another new set called The Right Words.
I'm sure I'll be using this set like crazy!!!

Hopefully it won't be so long until my new post...
But I can't promise anything. :)

Growing in Unity: Day Five

I really am a scrapbooker at heart... And I originally started collecting Unity Stamps
to use on my layouts.
So this week I wanted to make sure to show you how
I use Unity Stamps to embellish my pages.

This page is from a family fun day at the Mall of America.
{My niece and nephew are often the subjects of my scrapbooking}
I used a very special Itty Bitty my friend Lacey sent me as a RAK.
It's called Snapshots. I cut out the camera and popped it up for some dimension.  I took the 'snapshots' sentiment and repeated it along the top as a border.

On this page I also used the set Here's the Ticket
I like to use this set as a place to journal and as a date marker.

The adorable paper is the Dreamin' set from Close to My Heart.
And I broke out my Cricut to cut the title from the Paisley cartridge.

This week was SOOO much fun, I'm sorry to see it end...
Don't forget to stop back and see if your name was drawn as the WINNER!!!

Growing in Unity: Day Four

Welcome to my newest followers, so glad you came to join me!!!

Day four is here and I'm using Echo Park paper {another favorite of mine}
How many "favorites" are we allowed?! hehe
Anyway, I thought I'd show you how I make make cards both masculine and feminine.

This first card has tons of color and gems to 'girl' it up:
The sentiment I used is from the Itty Bitty Simple Party.

The second card is for the boys:
The plaid pattern combined with the red, green and navy colors
make this card a bit more on the manly side.
And believe it or not the sentiment on this card is from the very girly set Undeniably You.
Oh and the tiny star? It was an unexpected gift from Unity in one of my orders.
Another reason to LOVE Unity Stamp Co. right?!

Can't wait until tomorrow to show you the layout I made...
Thanks for all the sweet comments, it has been so fun to hear what you think.
Keep commenting on each post and YOU might be a WINNER!

Growing in Unity: Day Three

I wouldn't describe myself a natural when it comes to being crafty.
So I LOVE that Unity Stamp Co. offers so many ways to help me get started.
Their Kit of the Month Sketch Challenges are my FAVORITE!!!
I especially like this months sketch:

Here is my take on the design:
I moved the embellishment to the center, I liked it better there :)
This sentiment is used a lot; mainly because it's so versatile:
birthday, wedding, shower, etc. it just seems to work for everything!
The fancy paper is by Crate Paper;  So CUTE right?!
I used my Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles to cut the circles.

I also made another card {I don't want you to get bored!)
Sometimes it's kinda nice to have a card without a sentiment on hand:
This was my first time using this Echo Park stamp and now I can't believe I waited so long!
It's from the set I Adore You.  How vintage and pretty?!
It fit my Spellbinders Labels Four fairly well too.

This week sure is flying by! Hope you're having fun...

Growing in Unity: Day Two

Co-brands are another reason why I {heart} Unity so much.
Lately, I have been all about Authentique Paper
and when they combined with Unity Stamp Co.
WOW was I excited!!!

Today, I made TWO cards
with a few of my Authentique Unity stamps.

The first card features the Itty Bitty Direction of Happy
I inked the edges of everything with my Tim Holtz Walnut stain Distress Ink.

The second card has rounded edges and a little satin ribbon
to make it special.  I used the You + Me = Bliss set for the sentiment:

I often add a small amount of bling to my butterflies...
for these cards I used my iRock tool and gems.
The paper I used today is from Authentique's Splendid Collection.

Thanks for stopping my for round two...
keep those comments coming for your chance to win!

Welcome to Erin's Heart Sprinkles!

For DAY ONE I made two Clean and Simple Cards
using the set Simple Blessings
Check out those massive pumpkins!
The sentiment I used is from one of my "go-to" sets

Below I just repeated the same leaf design in three colors.
The ink I used was from Close to My Heart:
I picked up this 'Happy Fall' sentiment in one of Unity's special grab bags.

Thanks for stopping by,
I look forward to seeing some old friends and meeting some NEW ones too!

Scrapfest: Jillibean Soup

I took THREE classes at Scrapfest this year
One of the most FUN was the Jillibean Soup card class.
Probably because it was the only class the three of us girls took together but also because
Jillibean Soup has such happy; CA-UTE paper!!!
I love love LOVE the pins with the butterflies

This actually has a pocket on the front! How darling?!
I like the corrugated heart on this one
Love this owl! I wish we would've gotten the stamp as a prize but no such luck.

And we couldn't resist a celebrity pic with Jill Yagerlehner
(Don't ask me to pronounce that)
She's just a sweetie!

Unity Challenge: Falling Leaves

I know I've been a a bit absent from my blog...
My brain really wants to be crafty and I've made a HUGE list of stuff I want to create
but when I sit down: *blah* nothing comes out then I get frustrated shut off my OttLite,
and veg on the couch!  How lazy and boring!!!
I suspect my head is full, I'm starting a new position at work this week
And I had my first shift at my LSS today! Lots of changes in my world lately
LOTS of really GREAT changes...

Sort of like the seasons right? (How's that for a transition?)
Here is my one and only creation from the last week and half:

The 'leaves' are actually trees from the Unity set Bella Trees
They're small and I thought could pass as leaves... Yes? No?
I adore the sentiment; it's from the Archiver's Uniquely Unity mini book kit.
I got a little ink happy too but it worked.  It's my go to color: Walnut Stain.
The paper is a rare purchase from Michael's: Recollections paper stack Simply Autumn.

Hope everyone is enjoying these last beautiful days of Fall
before the snow starts flying!

My 100 challenge: COMPLETE!

I totally love this VERY simple mini set...
Sometimes I over think my creations, this one practically made itself!
I love when that happens!
I chose my ink colors first and matched the paper to the ink.

The bold "thanks" sentiment is from the Unity Sentiments O'Simple set
This mini set left me with only ONE project to complete in my challenge...
Now, I could've made one more mini but it didn't seem right.

So my FINAL project is a layout featuring my bestie Jen on her 28th Birthday:
I just LOVE the "junkie" scrapbook type feel of this page!

I can't believe I did it! I completed 100 cards/layouts!!!
It sounded impossible and at times felt like the impossible
But with the support of my followers and the sweet comments you left,
I'm done!!!

I have great news too, I start working PT at my LSS in Pine City, MN next weekend!
Here is the link:  The Pine City Scrapbooking Co.
I can't wait to meet lots of crazy paper crafting lovers like me.

P.S.
Look for my Growing in Unity week October 17th-21st

I'm famous...

Well not really...not even a little. BUT check me out over on the Cosmo Cricket blog!
That's Lindsay, I'm a big fan.

I'll post more Scrapfest 2011 photos later :)

Thanks Sew Much!

Unity + My Minds Eye = CUTE!!!
I went distress ink happy on both cards... sometimes you just HAVE to!
I received this first Unity Stamp, the thread spools, in a grab bag.
LOVE it but I don't have one of those cute "sew" sentiments so I made my own.

The second card was sorta fun.
a 5x5 base made the little squares fit better.
I really like flat cards best because they are so much easier to mail.
So, no dimension here.
{Oh and the squares are meant to be a little wonky}

Just a few more cards to post and my challenge is complete!
I have a mini set to post that is SUPER plain and CAS, I adore it!!!

RAWR!!!

Urban Dictionary said, "Rawr" means "I love you" in dinosaur.
I thought that was quite helpful actually! LOL

Lovin' this Bella Blvd + Unity dino, I see him being around in my life for a long time.
Such a cute little monster for children's cards
but he might even be kinda cute on Valentine's Day cards as well?
ANYHOW, I love him.
I don't often use Thickers on cards because I'm usually stamping my sentiment.
However, you gotta switch it up every now and then right?!

He's colored with Copics but he'd also be darling paper pieced.
The ideas are already starting...

Thanks for stopping by!

Cosmo Cricket Thank You's

Here are a couple of clean and simple thank you cards
I made with Cosmo Crickets Upcycle line.
I think it's so girly and fun!
I inked the edges with grey ink...
it just seemed to match better than my usual brown or black.

And you can never have too many thank you cards on hand...

Happy day

I have already done a page about Bennett's 1st birthday using his professional cake smashing pics
but I wanted to scrap a few snapshot photos.
Mostly because I can't get enough of the his smiling face in the photo on the left.
Seriously you can't help but giggle when you see that cubby happy face!

This was a Jillibean Soup Sketch that I didn't finish in time for their deadline-oops!
The ticket is a Unity stamp and the twine is from The Twinery.
Simple but different for me... I rarely think to put my title going up the side.

10 left in my challenge!  {Well I actually have them done...} I just have to get blogging.
We've been having Internet difficulty. sooo frustrating!

Also, We had an UH-MAZING time at Scrafest!!!
I'm looking forward to showing all the goodies I made and all the "celebrity" photos I got!

My Furry Friend

Check out my darling baby boy Remington; "Remy" for short.
He is spoiled, entitled, chicken, and the best 40 lb lap dog around!!!

This Bella Blvd Tail Waggers collection was made for an animal lover like me.

The simple design was chosen to show off the picture and the title.

Just a quick post today... I hope you're having a fabby week!

More Bella Layouts

For as often as I make and share cards, my heart really is with layouts.
I love the feeling when it's complete and the satisfaction of adding one more page to your favorite album!
Today I have two Bella Blvd layouts created with their Mr. Boy collection.

This first layout is of my nephew born over a year ago now.
And he is ALL boy!
I tried the hand stitching technique on this page and really like the look but it's a long process!

The second layout is of my nephew from my husbands side.
He is very special to us and was our ring bearer in our wedding.
I think he is the most adorable and silly little man I know!

Thanks for checking out this post!
Count down to Scrapfest: 2 days! AHHHH

Vertical Sketch Challenge

I'm so excited to share another very simple card.
Check out the link to the Moxie Fab World Challenge HERE
I really loved this sketch...love love love
I had all intentions of following the sketch exactly but my card had a simple mind of it's own:
Using Crate Paper Portrait Collection scraps, some scrap lace, twine
and super old never opened typewriter letters...
This is what I came up with!
I like the rounded edges on the bottom.
I only did two banners and a sentiment in the upper left corner just didn't seem right.

Hope like it as much as I do, leave a comment; let me know what you think!

Square Sketch Challenge

My second entry over at Moxie Fab World blog.
Check out the sketch provided:
They are very clear that the flower indicates a "design element"
and doesn't actually have to be a flower...
So I took them up on the idea and pulled one of my favorite Unity Stamp Co. set's:  "She Said"
I adore this sassy lady and really should use her more often.

VERY clean and simple but that's ok every now and then.
and I like it.
Lots of entries on this challenge but still plenty of time to join the fun!

Moxie Fab World Horizontal Sketch

I am one busy girl this weekend! Lots of fun projects to share...
Once I started, I just couldn't stop!
I made a card for the Horizontal Sketch Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
Here's their challenge:
And here's my take on the design:
I used Crate Paper's Portrait Collection and Unity Stamps.
I think the sentiment 'possibilities' goes perfectly with the butterfly.

There's still time to play, enter before September19th!

CAS-ual Fridays CFC#19

I've wanted and had many plans to enter the challenges over at the
CAS-ual Fridays blog but the is my first official try! So excited about it too!

The challenge is to use the paper piecing technique on a fall themed card.

These adorable stamps are from the Bella Trees set from Unity Stamp Co
I used Echo Park paper and some navy ribbon and twine to add a little something extra.
A not-so-funny story about this card:
I originally made the card upside down (or backwards)
I had to cut the front off and mount on the red paper to flip it right side up!
I swear it's amazing I function some days...LOL

Can't Thank You Enough PDCC98

love, LOVE the colors in this Play Date Cafe challenge!
Check 'em out:
Super classy and different, just gorgeous!
Here's my card:
I used a My Favorite Things Stamp from the set Polka Dot Greetings
This October Afternoon paper was made for this color challenge.
I love it when plan comes together. ;)

...add ribbon, ink the edges with Walnut Stain and you're done!

Unity's September Sketch Challenge

It happened AGAIN!
I forgot to use a KOTM stamp for the challenge! *grrr*
So, instead of giving up, I got my head on straight and made another card...
The sketch:

My first try uses one of my favorite quotes of all time from the

Here's my successful entry using KOTM stamps I received in grab bags:
I think the Crate Paper is what makes this so pretty...
I also distress inked the edges withTim Holtz Antique Linen.
There are Diamond Stickles on the swirl that sparkle nicely in real life.

There's still LOTS of time to enter.  If you win,
you chose any one Kit of the Month PLUS 100 random Unity stamps
Now THAT'S a prize!

FWF Bella Layout

I feel like I have been so busy lately that once a week posts are becoming the norm.
I don't want to get in that habit; my excuse is the awesome Midwest weather
and my new bike. :)

So a few weeks ago I tried out for my first design team spot with Bella Blvd.
I've never even submitted anything for publication so this was a LONG shot.
Obviously I didn't get selected but the excitement has me thinking I might try something like this again.

Here is one of the layouts I made:

I used Unity's Sunny Happy Skies and I paper pieced the butterfly which I received in a grab bag.
The month in the bottom corner is from Just the Ticket

I absolutely LOVE this layout and the photo of my mother and me.
It's just so "us."

Here's a link to the Unity Blog to check out all the Friends with Flair participants.
ONE week from today I will be at SCRAPFEST!!!!
