I really LOVE to create for others...especially when they make it so easy!

My newest friend Jessica asked for a few cards

and gave me a few directions...

1 Father's Day card for a Dad who loves fish:

For this card I used October Afternoon paper and MFT die-namics

Fishtail Banner.  I added my favorite twine from The Twinery,

inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink

and the shiny gold fish was from a pile of crafty leftovers a friend gave me.

1 birthday card for a Mom who loves pansies:

For this card I used my co-brand Bella Blvd + Unity Stamps Bella Fiori

I colored the flowers and leaves and cut them out

and paper pieced back onto the card

That might be crazy but I don't like how the markers bleed through.

I finished the flowers with three yellow buttons and again some more twine.

She also ordered 5 mini cards...

I might show those later this week.

joy beyond measure

I'm ALL ABOUT All Things Unity's stamps not used challenge!  I adore Unity Stamp Co and must admit I have quite the collection going!  However, with a growing collection, some stamps just don't get as much LOVE as they deserve.

With this card I tried TWO stamps I haven't inked up yet:

Background stamps make me nervous, maybe it's their size I don't really know...These clouds are so FUN but I just couldn't get it together to use them until now.  This is also my first time using this sentiment. I got this stamp with my Uniquely Unity workshop kit from Archiver's

(The butterfly is Unity too but I've used it a couple hundred times already)

There's still time to enter a project, it's a great excuse to try something new!

All Things Unity Challenge #31

All Things Unity has challenged Unity Stamp Co lovers to use those forgotten stamps!

I purchased this Ippity stamp a looong time ago because

I. just. had. to. have. it.

BUT I never got around to inkin' it up!

Everything seemed to fall in to place with this challenge...I happened to need a thank you card for a friend who lent me a book.  I thought a tag would be simple and get the job done.

I color the books and butterfly with my Copic markers
and inked my white tag with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Fire Brick. 

I double up the butterfly for some dimension.

Last week was a BUST
I'm hoping to get organized this week and post more projects...we'll see ;)

Birthday challenge...

Rules were:

 make a 3 inch square mini card

with a birthday or anniversary theme

and using 3 embellies

I eked by with 2 brads + ribbon. Do pop dots count? hehe

I thought this sentiment would be appropriate for EITHER

a Birthday OR Anniversary, right?

National Scrapbooking Day

I was out of town at my Grandparents and they do not have a computer (GASP!)

As luck would have it, I've been planning to scrap my recent baking experience...

and made this 8x8 recipe page:

Happy Mother's Day!

 I spent the weekend with my BEAUTIFUL mother who I've fondly referred to as "Mutti" since I returned home from my trip to Austria in high school.  I am exactly like my Mother in so many ways...

We laugh as she tells me a story and my response is, more often than not, "Meeee too!"

To be like my Mother makes me smile.

In my eyes:

is

AMAZING!!!

She is silly, caring, supportive, driven, and patient (she needed to be, I was a HANDFUL!)

Thanks meine Mutti for so many things but most all for being my BEST friend!

My mother has already opened her Mother's Day card

but here's a blog card to celebrate all the Mother's out there

(including those of us who have furry babies)

I used Echo Park's Life is Good paper line, inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain,

and added a gem for sparkle.

Unity's KOTM Sketch Challenge

Unity's at it again!!!

 ...creating so many AWESOME ways to win their FABBY stamps.

I used super NEW and super CUTE My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose: Mabel Papers.

The scallops are made with my EK Success border punch.

I distressed all the paper edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain ink.

The sentiment is from Unity's KOTM February 2011

while the butterfly is from March 2011.

I haven't done a layout in awhile...needed some inspiration

and these two little blessings did the trick!

Lilly and Bennett are my niece and nephew

and most often the subject of my scrapbooking.

I continued with Lesley Langdon's paint on canvas embellishment:

This time I bought and used acrylic paint called Juniper-It matched perfectly I love that!

The paper is Stella and Rose by My Mind's Eye.

The chick is from Ippity's Sweet Thoughts of Spring, the swirls are a grab bag stamp,

and the sentiment is from Echo Park's With Love.

The rosettes are a Tim Holtz diecut with CTMH brads in the center.

I've had a few questions about the canvas:

I bought the canvas pieces from Archiver's. They have all different shapes:  hearts, squares, diamonds...

Although, if you are near an Ikea they have fabric swatches for FREE. The "blekinge white" color is perfect for this technique. They aren't really stiff but the canvas is two layers so I'd call it thick. I adhered to my page with glossy accents.
